Albert is the Intelligent Flight Sim Interface: it lets you learn and fly complex airliners according to your own preferences and your own skill level. It can monitor you, advise you, or fly for you — following your flight plan through the aircraft’s own autopilot and showing you what it’s doing and why. Take the systems on one at a time as you learn them, or hand a phase over when you become task saturated. Disengage at any time.

What makes it different
Most virtual co-pilots take a command and perform it. Albert shows you the aircraft instead — a live display of its systems and its energy state — and then lets you decide how much of the flying you want to do yourself.
Descent and approach are where it earns its place. Albert works the speedbrake and the flap schedule in real time through the phases where it’s easiest to get behind the airplane — or tells you what it would do and when, and leaves the levers to you.
The advisor has no curriculum. Fly any route or flight plan you like and it will walk you through the phase you’re in, and through what the aircraft’s own autopilot is doing to get you there.
It reads clearances too. "Descend and maintain", "proceed direct to" — Albert turns the instruction into the actions that carry it out, with full control of the mode control panel for heading, altitude and speed, or it hands you the interface to set them yourself.

Flies through the real autopilot
Albert works the MCP and the CDU the way you would. Nothing is overridden behind the scenes — LNAV and VNAV stay in charge.
Says why, not just what
Every recommended action carries its reasoning: the limit, the level, the constraint it came from. The autopilot stops being a black box.
Manages the energy
It watches the vertical path and calls high and fast early, and it will use the speedbrake — the part the airplane won’t do for you.
Monitor, Advise, Fly
Three levels of help, changeable mid-flight and per layer. Watch it, take its advice, or hand the leg over — and take it back whenever you like.
Shows you only the controls you want
Reorganize the panels, and simplify or expand them to use exactly the controls and indicators you want.
Displays anywhere
It’s a web page. Put it on the iPad clamped to the yoke, on a second monitor on your Windows PC, or even on a Mac laptop beside the rig.

One airframe, done properly, before anything else. Albert knows the 777’s autoflight modes, its energy behavior and its configuration schedule — not a generic airliner model bent to fit.
System requirements
The beta opens in September.
Albert is still being built. I expect to open the beta in September 2026, and it’ll be free while it runs. Leave your email and I’ll write to you when there’s something to install — not before, and nothing else.

Is this cheating?+
Only if using the autopilot is. Albert drives the same MCP you would drive, and it tells you what it’s pressing and why — which is rather the opposite of hiding the airplane from you.
Will it stay free?+
It’ll be free through the beta. I haven’t decided what happens after that, and I’ll tell the list before anything changes rather than after.
Does it need an internet connection?+
Only for the AI guidance. That part needs a connection. Everything else doesn’t: Albert serves the interface from your sim PC over your own network, and the flying works with no internet at all.
What if I want to fly the leg myself?+
Put it in Monitor and it will sit there and comment. Every layer is independent, so you can hand over the descent and keep the radios, or the reverse.
Which simulator does it work with?+
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Windows, and nothing else. I don’t have plans to port it to other platforms, or to other simulators like X-Plane.
