What Albert keeps local

Albert reads information from Microsoft Flight Simulator and the supported simulated aircraft. This may include flight and aircraft data, the flight plan, and images of cockpit displays. Albert also creates settings, logs, and optional recordings on the computer where it is installed.

That information may travel between the computer running Albert and a browser on the same local network. Albert does not automatically upload it to Fflying Llama. A log, recording, screenshot, support ZIP, or other support file leaves the computer only when the user chooses to send it.

Albert's local browser interface has no account or password. It should be used on a trusted home network because another person or device that can reach Albert on that network may be able to see its information or operate the simulated aircraft.

Albert does not currently have an AI chat assistant. The installed app does not automatically send simulator information or support files to an AI service.

Information Fflying Llama handles

Fflying Llama handles the following limited categories of information:

• Website information: ordinary request and performance information, such as the source IP address, page visited, referring site, approximate location, and general browser or device information. The website uses aggregate analytics but does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
• Update-list information: an email address, the signup and consent record, subscription status, and information needed to deliver email and honor an unsubscribe request.
• License and update information: an email address, license key and customer record, Albert version, license status, available features, and related entitlement or usage records. Albert periodically sends the saved key and installed version for license checks and sends the installed version for update checks. These requests do not include information about a simulated flight.
• Support information: the contact information, message, and any logs, recordings, screenshots, or other files a user chooses to provide.

Requesting a beta or license key does not by itself add an address to the marketing list.

Website request information is created automatically when a website or online service is used. Joining the update list and contacting support are optional. An email address is needed to issue beta or paid access tied to a customer, and the resulting license key is needed to validate that access. Neither is needed for features offered without a key. Without requested support information, Fflying Llama may not be able to investigate a problem.

How information is used and shared

Fflying Llama uses this information to send requested updates, issue and validate license keys, provide licensed features, check for software updates, answer support requests, understand aggregate website use and performance, prevent misuse, and keep ordinary business and legal records.

Where European Economic Area or United Kingdom data-protection law applies, Fflying Llama relies on the following legal bases:

• Contract or steps requested by the user to issue and validate access, provide licensed features and software updates, and respond to support requests.
• Consent to send marketing and update-list messages.
• Legitimate interests in operating, understanding, and securing the website and services, preventing misuse, and keeping ordinary business records, provided those interests are not overridden by the user's rights.
• Legal obligations, including applicable tax, accounting, and lawful-disclosure requirements.

Fflying Llama does not sell personal information, rent the update list, or use personal information for targeted advertising.

Information is shared only with service providers that perform functions such as website hosting, database storage, email delivery, analytics, and business email; when a user chooses to use an outside support channel; or when disclosure is legally required or reasonably necessary to protect users, Fflying Llama, or the service. Those providers handle information under their own terms and privacy practices.

International processing

Fflying Llama is based in the United States. Fflying Llama and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose privacy laws differ from those where the user lives.

Where European Economic Area or United Kingdom law requires a transfer safeguard, Fflying Llama uses an applicable adequacy decision or contractual safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the United Kingdom addendum. Contact Fflying Llama to ask about safeguards relevant to particular information.

Retention

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above. This includes keeping enough information to operate an active license, maintain ordinary business records, resolve a support request or dispute, and honor an unsubscribe request. A license or transaction record may be retained without identifying information when there is a continuing business or legal reason to keep it.

Deleted information may remain temporarily in routine service-provider backups until those backups expire.

Choices and requests

Every Albert marketing email includes an unsubscribe method. Unsubscribing from marketing does not cancel or disable a beta or license key.

Where applicable, a user may request access to, correction or deletion of, restriction on, or a portable copy of personal information, and may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal. These rights may be limited by applicable law.

To make a request, email albert@fflyingllama.com from the address involved. Fflying Llama may need to confirm control of that address before acting and may retain the minimum information reasonably needed to honor an opt-out, maintain an anonymized business record, comply with law, or resolve a dispute.

A user may also complain to the data-protection authority where the user lives or works or where an alleged violation occurred. Users in the United Kingdom may contact the Information Commissioner's Office.

If Albert adds payment processing or an online feature that handles new categories of information, this notice will be updated before that information is collected.
